The Journey Starts with a Single Step….

Before I became a zumba instructor and speaker, I had been searching for something I loved to do. Like many people, I was walking around going from job to job unfulfilled in my journey.  Don’t get me wrong, I had a lot of really great jobs and worked with a lot of really great people….but none of the work I was doing was filling that void I felt.

I started taking zumba to first find a fitness that I would stick to and enjoy as many other sports/fitness didn’t interest me and also because I found myself getting lost in the music and walking away feeling like that void I kept feeling would disappear.

As time went on, I found myself looking so forward to class and for me, at the time, it wasn’t really about the workout anymore, it was about how it made me feel the moment the music came on and my body began to move. It was like I could feel all of the issues I was having during the day just start to fall right off of me and I would be smiling from ear to ear by the end of class.

The more I did it, the more I wanted others to have this experience.  I realized my love for music and movement is what had been missing in my life. I didn’t even have any intention to become an instructor but then at some point, it just happened.

To this day, I still have days that are stressful but the difference is that everyday, I dance it away with amazing women and we laugh and sweat and leave all our worries at the door.  It doesn’t mean that the worries or stresses don’t come back either. Sometimes they do…..and then, I dance again and reflect on what needs to happen and most times I gain clarity on what I am dealing with while I am busting a move!

Becoming an instructor was one of the greatest gifts I could give to myself.   When I hear people say, “all journey starts with a single step”, I totally get it…and then this journey was followed up by a cha-cha-cha and I am forever grateful.

Let me support you in finding the mental, emotional and physical release you want/need in life. If you love music, you will love zumba. Anyone really CAN do it no matter your shape, mindset, physical disability….when there is a will, there is a way!

I have just returned from a visit to Saskatchewan and I am here to warn you that it is COMING! Be sure to come to Zumba class and keep your bodies warm and active!

Classes are all ON! You can dance with me Monday to Friday! WOOHOO!

All classes from October 5-7 are cancelled.

Taking On Over-all Health Begins With a Workout!

I could not be MORE EXCITED to kick off this week with ALL Zumba classes ON!

I cannot wait to dance and play with all of you this week!

I have been learning so much out of a difficult few months how important physical activity really is….not just for physical health but being able to clear my mind and keep moving forward by literally putting one foot in front of the other and sometimes side to side in a Cha-Cha-Cha.

On the days when I really didn’t want to (and yes, even as instructors we have those moments) I got up and went and by the end of dancing for 60 minutes, I felt amazing again and clear-headed to be able to go back to my family and make a difference for them and for me!

Working out, in my opinion, should be a part of everyone’s day.  Whether it be a 20 minute walk in a park, a zumba class, bootcamp, hitting the gym, whatever it is for you that you love.  The point is, our bodies are meant to move so staying stationary at a desk or coming home at the end of the day and sitting on the couch or watching tv, is not what your body actually wants. It IS what our minds “think” we want sometimes, I am not denying that!

If you continue to set up your workout, just like you do your work schedule and have it just become part of your regular routine, trust me, everything will open up for you.

These past few months have been extremely emotional and difficult for me and I am also clear that it would have been ten times worse if I hadn’t gotten up and went to class everyday.  I managed to think clearer, smile more, open to new ideas and find more love than I ever knew was possible just by working out and keeping the happy endorphins flowing.

It wasn’t easy but it was TOTALLY WORTH IT and completely available to you too!

Class Change Notice for week of September 12, 2016

To My Zumba Clients,

Due to a family funeral, there will be no class on Wednesday September 14th and I am scheduled away for Thursday September 15th. Class schedule for next week is as follows:

Tuesday September 13th Zumba Sentao 7pm

Wednesday September 14th NO CLASS

Thursday September 15th NO CLASS

Friday September 16th Zumba CORE  9:30am

Staying Consistent Makes the Difference….

Staying consistent is the key to success in your own health and well-being.

Have you ever had a situation arise in your life that felt like it was too big to get pass or been so upset by a someone or a situation that you couldn’t even move?  You felt paralyzed?

Speaking personally, this has been a very difficult summer for me.  What has kept me in a highly positive state in the face of it all is continuing my regular work out sessions.  Zumba is also such a powerful group fitness class for not only giving you a great work out but the music will lift your spirits and leave you with a smile on your face by the end of class, no matter how bad life seems to be in the moment.

If it had not been for keeping consistent in my zumba routine (and that means even when I really didn’t want to I would still go), you may have found me curled up in a corner crying.  (I really wish I was kidding when I write that but that really is the truth)

Yes fitness is about getting fit physically but when you find the program that works for you it becomes so much more than just that.  It becomes something you can turn to when life shows up and you are not sure how to handle it.  Through releasing endorphins, blocks that seemed to once be in your way, gather a whole new perspective and you are able to begin to see clearly….to see your life clearly…..to see situations clearly and in turn, gives you new actions that you can take to move forward.

We are only stopped in life when we take no action…………………………

Just like you, I deal with upsets, heartache, challenges that some days I just don’t even know where to begin, except now…where I do begin each and every time, is in a zumba class.  I work through what is right there upsetting me by releasing the endorphins that will help me to think clearly and gain new perspective.

Please come and try out a class and see what I mean.  Leave your stresses behind for 60 minutes and see them with more clarity by the end.
