Do You Get the Mid Week Blues?

Never fear! Zumba Basics is HERE!!! 🙂

Okay, yes. I do get quite excited about this.

Here is why….many years ago now (before I found Zumba) I used to find Tuesdays to be a very long day and by the time Wednesday rolled around, I would be feeling super tired and wishing for the weekend….since discovering the great world of Zumba AND doing a Zumba class every wednesday, my energy to kick it through the week has been AMAZING!

I personally just want everyone to have amazing days and incredible weeks and now that we have moved into this uber cool spot of High Park Brewery, it has made it even MORE FUN (if that was even possible)!!

This location is especially great for those who have friends or family who want to join you but may or may not want to actually do the class for now.  They can come, sit on the patio or inside, enjoy a cold pint or soda, listen to the music and pick up on the energy whether they are doing the class or not! Pretty cool!

You get to do your fitness class AND spend time with those you care about! OR, if you just need a night away from everyone, this is just a really awesome place to get your groove on with some pretty spectacular ladies!!

Wednesdays @ 6:45pm  High Park Brewery (839 Runnymede Road)

Come a few minutes early to get signed in!

Cost: $20 gets you the class & a ticket for a pint of beer or soda after class!

Wear comfy clothes you don’t mind sweating in! 🙂 And Runners are a must!

Bring a reusable water bottle (We got lots so you can keep filling up!)

Be ready to have fun and let loose!

Taking On Over-all Health Begins With a Workout!

I could not be MORE EXCITED to kick off this week with ALL Zumba classes ON!

I cannot wait to dance and play with all of you this week!

I have been learning so much out of a difficult few months how important physical activity really is….not just for physical health but being able to clear my mind and keep moving forward by literally putting one foot in front of the other and sometimes side to side in a Cha-Cha-Cha.

On the days when I really didn’t want to (and yes, even as instructors we have those moments) I got up and went and by the end of dancing for 60 minutes, I felt amazing again and clear-headed to be able to go back to my family and make a difference for them and for me!

Working out, in my opinion, should be a part of everyone’s day.  Whether it be a 20 minute walk in a park, a zumba class, bootcamp, hitting the gym, whatever it is for you that you love.  The point is, our bodies are meant to move so staying stationary at a desk or coming home at the end of the day and sitting on the couch or watching tv, is not what your body actually wants. It IS what our minds “think” we want sometimes, I am not denying that!

If you continue to set up your workout, just like you do your work schedule and have it just become part of your regular routine, trust me, everything will open up for you.

These past few months have been extremely emotional and difficult for me and I am also clear that it would have been ten times worse if I hadn’t gotten up and went to class everyday.  I managed to think clearer, smile more, open to new ideas and find more love than I ever knew was possible just by working out and keeping the happy endorphins flowing.

It wasn’t easy but it was TOTALLY WORTH IT and completely available to you too!

Are YOU That Person Too?

I am the one you will see on a street corner tapping her toes and shaking her leg for what appears to be no reason….(until you spot the earphones)…

I am the one that hears a song playing in the grocery store and breaks into a mini choreopgraphy using the shopping cart as a prop…..

I am the one who sitting on a streetcar will begin to bop her head and do hand motions that you are not sure if I am calling you over or just hand dancing….

Begin to hear the music everywhere in life and soon….every place you go…is worth taking a moment to groove out, make yourself smile….and others around you wonder…”what is that woman up to?”

Keep’em guessing! Keeps life interesting!

Zumba Weather Report…ALL CLEAR! You Can Make It!

I am not asking you to do this today……



BUT I am asking you to not be stopped by the snow! 🙂


This just in…..Tonight will be steamy hot winds gusting at 30 km/hr, followed by 70% precipitation….the temp will be +22 and up! (Let’s make it a tropical experience ladies!)

Bundle up to come to class and then WARM up for 60 minutes of dancing fun! (even stop to make a snow angel if the mood strikes you on your way!)

Young people are not stopped by the weather, so why should you be?

Need A Mini Vacation? Find Out How!

I know I need a vacation and I will definitely take one but until then I am on the mini vacation plan.

What is it?


The coolest part I find about zumba is the music will take you on a 60 minute tour of the world….you can soca to some Caribbean beats, land in India and Bollywood your way over to Portugal, Spain, Italy and finish your tour right in America….or wherever your tour guide…also known as your zumba instructor….plans to land your mini vacation!

It is a pretty awesome way to take your mind out of the day-to-day and into another place even for a little while.  The heat from all the dancing you do will have you feeling like a drink with a pink umbrella may be needed afterward!

So while you wait to take your next vacation, please come join us for some “mini vacations” along the way!  The other “vacationers” are AWESOME too!

Every class is a little different and visits many tropical and european destinations along the way!
