I Am Under Construction…It Is A GREAT Thing!

I have discovered that everything in life, jobs, relationships, being alive, is always evolving and if I stay “static” or not moving in one area then everything eventually seems like it gets “stuck”. It becomes a force that is very hard to move forward.

The beginning of 2018 brought upon many incidents/accidents that have had me begin to re-evaluate much of what I have been working on.  Not like a problem, only that knowing when many challenges show up, sometimes it is like the universe’s way of saying “HELLO TAMMY!! Are you listening?”

The most prominent that started my year were 2 car accidents less than 2 month’s apart. Both times I was rear-ended and ended up with whiplash and concussions. The second time I was hit, my car that I just purchased less than 6 month’s prior to the accidents, it didn’t make it.

Being that I work primarily in the fitness industry this was very hard physically to see some of the limitations I was having after both accidents.  I had headaches regularly, my body was very sore constantly.  I would easily forget things I had just done or said in the first few weeks following these accidents. It was terribly frustrating at the time.

Thankfully, I know my body well and went directly to my chiropractor and medical doctor right after the accidents. I immediately got the support I needed and have bounced back extremely quickly so I can keep working doing what I love.

That being said, the accidents also opened something up for me. I realized I really had no back up plan if something were to happen that I didn’t “bounce back” again if something else were to happen. The question to myself was “If I am not able to dance anymore, then what?”

I realized this year that my passion is and always will be to support others in discovering what lights them up. Supporting others in finding the relationships they are looking for. Supporting people of all abilities to move and find their groove! Supporting others in making their dreams reality, whether it be fitness goals, relationships, financial, building businesses, creating extraordinary events, and so much more.

The company I have built, the Live OUT LOUD Movement, is so much more than just a fitness program based primarily in Zumba Fitness.

The Live OUT LOUD Movement is a LIFE MOVEMENT.

A place to take all that seems like heavy weights on our shoulders and discover the silver lining within them all to produce extraordinary results in the face of no agreement in life.

I truly believe that everything happens in our lives for a reason. Even all the “bad stuff” that I wish never happened. I see it as it had to happen to show me something that I couldn’t see was available before. In the moment, it never “feels” that way, however the true gift of this MOVEMENT is the opportunity to look more in-depth at what is happening and discover what I/we can’t see right away.  Discovering the knowledge that is hidden deep within what ails us to creating a strong and vibrant life that impacts ourselves and others by what is discovered!

I am in the process of rebuilding new aspects to the Live OUT LOUD Movement and new offerings over the next few months to really dive deep into what is possible through this company to help people in a unique way.

I hope you stick around to see what is next and how it all plays out. I will always continue to dance for as long as my body will let me, you can bet money on that and now is the time for me to take what I have built thus far and expand it far beyond where it is today!

EXCITING TIMES!

Thoughts That Keep Us Stuck In Life….

Some days I wake up and I am not in a good mood. I am not very nice with myself and as my own worst critic I start the day with being mean to me.

Can anyone relate?

I have been known to take on the attitude that I am not good enough and the evidence to prove that I am not enough shows up in the way that I would be “more” successful in my career, I would be making “more” money, I would be able to see my family “more”, I would have “more” free time to do what I want to do while balancing everything else….

Notice the word “more” and how much it shows up?

Yes. Sometimes we are the worst with the person we should be loving the most.

Ourselves.

Nobody is immune to this way of thinking. If there was a magic pill that could be taken to interrupt this thinking, we probably all would have taken it by now.

There is not.

There is however, the ability for each of us to notice when we are doing it and begin to shift the way we think about ourselves.  There are tools we have as human beings that can have this way of thinking begin to disappear.

Some of the tools I have used and continue to use as I have found them to be very successful are the following:

  • As crazy as it may sound….FITNESS…this is my #1 way to interrupt it. When I begin to work out, no matter how down I am or being hard on myself, I can’t help but feel every molecule in my body come alive with a sense of renewed energy that pumps me up in a positive way!  The happy endorphins that are released when I am moving my body….sends me into a state of euphoria and pleasure that has the rest of my thoughts for the day completely shift to positivity.
  • Being in communication….not from complaining or being a victim of my thoughts….just being in communication with a friend or colleague or physician about what is going on. If you do this, I strongly suggest you pick someone who will not buy into your “oh woe is me” story but someone who can hear it, get it, and either coach you through it or just listen and not judge or pass their opinion on..
  • Journaling…..writing down what is happening in your thoughts is very powerful. Many times when I can see it on paper I can finally see what the disconnect is. I can see how cruel I am being to myself and that what I am saying to myself just doesn’t coincide with who I am in reality.
  • Take time out to be in nature….and BE in the moment. Can you appreciate the beauty of the grass in a park, the tree out your window, the stunning world in which we live in? I call it the “stop and smelling the roses” moment. We have all heard that term but do you ever just take a moment to appreciate life and all the beauty in it?  When I am wrapped up in making myself wrong, I can always bet that I haven’t stopped to see what is physically around me.  The moment I do, is the moment I can breathe again.

These are just a few methods that I use to come back to reality. See, what I have learned is those thoughts we have about ourselves are just that….thoughts…..and thoughts CAN become things if we listen to them like they are the truth.  I am choosing every day to think thoughts that will serve me now and in the future and to interrupt those thoughts that work to tear me apart.

What will you choose?

If you are struggling and need someone to listen, coach, or work with you on creating a fitness or nutrition program that will support you….please reach out. I am here.

Personal Stories

The Napkin of Possibility

Some of my best laid plans in my life, I have discovered, involve airplanes and the napkins they give me when I get my in flight beverage and snack.  Best office in the world, in my opinion, I am by myself (unless travelling with someone), my ears are popping so I can’t hear much and if I am on a flight with lots of turbulence I soon begin to think we may fall from the sky so I best be getting into action in my life!

It works for me!

Yesterday, while flying home I became so present to what is really important to me.  The most important thing to me with the work that I am creating within the Live OUT LOUD Movement is that is MUST make a difference in the world.

I have had a lot of j-o-b-s in my life and I have done many different things in my 20 years after high school.  Anything from office management, driving a combine, MLM’s, patient educator, ophthalmic assistant, running not for profits, running gyms, youth speaker, massage (in a bar…totally on the up and up…it was weird but funny all at once), food & beverage server, naturopathic assistant, chiropractic assistant, medical assistant….needless to say I have done alot…some that makes sense and some that don’t.  Some of these jobs I loved and some I couldn’t wait to get out of.

What I know though is the ones that I truly loved had certain characteristics about them that I am committed to formulate into the big picture of the Live OUT LOUD Movement.  The top seven are:

(DRUM ROLL PLEASE)

  1. Gotta make a difference for others AND the world
  2. Must empower people for what’s possible for themselves and their lives
  3. Involves speaking, coaching, listening for what’s important to people
  4. A place for all to be amazing, challenged, learn and grow
  5. It’s gotta be fun, free-spirited and structured all at the same time
  6. Create sustainable income and generating on its own
  7. It’s a daring adventure or nothing at all!!

When I have find myself living on the skinny branches of my life I am lit up, challenged, often confronted and most importantly ALIVE!

Honestly, it’s where the juiciness of life lives and I wouldn’t actually want it any other way…..I want this experience for all who are ready to take the leap and walk the tight rope.  Complacency is just NOT an option for me AND there are times I live there and have to climb the mountain to get out of it.

The way I see it is we all get this ONE life, ONE body, ONE mind, ONE spirit to do with it what we want and when I get present to it…..really the sky is the limit and its never-ending…Anyone CAN do it….if you are ready to live life to the fullest and create!

Soooooooo…….LET’S DO THIS!!!
