Self-care Comes FIRST

Seriously, this gets missed A LOT by MANY people!

Speaking from my own experience, I have a tendency to put everyone in my life’s needs before my own & by the end of the day, I am spent with no energy to give back to myself.

Recently, I have been switching it up.

Checking in with myself each MORNING & ensuring what I need from myself for the day, I get.

What this has shown me is that I am still able to be there & support others like I always did (if not even better now) & all my own personal needs are taken care of & I do not waiver from ensuring they are in a timely manner everyday!

So do what you need to do to take care of yourself FIRST & then watch how much easier it is to be there for others!

I Am Under Construction…It Is A GREAT Thing!

I have discovered that everything in life, jobs, relationships, being alive, is always evolving and if I stay “static” or not moving in one area then everything eventually seems like it gets “stuck”. It becomes a force that is very hard to move forward.

The beginning of 2018 brought upon many incidents/accidents that have had me begin to re-evaluate much of what I have been working on.  Not like a problem, only that knowing when many challenges show up, sometimes it is like the universe’s way of saying “HELLO TAMMY!! Are you listening?”

The most prominent that started my year were 2 car accidents less than 2 month’s apart. Both times I was rear-ended and ended up with whiplash and concussions. The second time I was hit, my car that I just purchased less than 6 month’s prior to the accidents, it didn’t make it.

Being that I work primarily in the fitness industry this was very hard physically to see some of the limitations I was having after both accidents.  I had headaches regularly, my body was very sore constantly.  I would easily forget things I had just done or said in the first few weeks following these accidents. It was terribly frustrating at the time.

Thankfully, I know my body well and went directly to my chiropractor and medical doctor right after the accidents. I immediately got the support I needed and have bounced back extremely quickly so I can keep working doing what I love.

That being said, the accidents also opened something up for me. I realized I really had no back up plan if something were to happen that I didn’t “bounce back” again if something else were to happen. The question to myself was “If I am not able to dance anymore, then what?”

I realized this year that my passion is and always will be to support others in discovering what lights them up. Supporting others in finding the relationships they are looking for. Supporting people of all abilities to move and find their groove! Supporting others in making their dreams reality, whether it be fitness goals, relationships, financial, building businesses, creating extraordinary events, and so much more.

The company I have built, the Live OUT LOUD Movement, is so much more than just a fitness program based primarily in Zumba Fitness.

The Live OUT LOUD Movement is a LIFE MOVEMENT.

A place to take all that seems like heavy weights on our shoulders and discover the silver lining within them all to produce extraordinary results in the face of no agreement in life.

I truly believe that everything happens in our lives for a reason. Even all the “bad stuff” that I wish never happened. I see it as it had to happen to show me something that I couldn’t see was available before. In the moment, it never “feels” that way, however the true gift of this MOVEMENT is the opportunity to look more in-depth at what is happening and discover what I/we can’t see right away.  Discovering the knowledge that is hidden deep within what ails us to creating a strong and vibrant life that impacts ourselves and others by what is discovered!

I am in the process of rebuilding new aspects to the Live OUT LOUD Movement and new offerings over the next few months to really dive deep into what is possible through this company to help people in a unique way.

I hope you stick around to see what is next and how it all plays out. I will always continue to dance for as long as my body will let me, you can bet money on that and now is the time for me to take what I have built thus far and expand it far beyond where it is today!

Family Zumba Coming to Children’s Palace!

Are you a mom, dad or guardian who is interested in getting fit and having fun with your child?

Family Zumba is all about connecting the family to music, dance and fitness in a fun way!  Children love to participate in activities with their parents when they are young.  Let’s take advantage of this precious time in their lives and yours where you can create some memories that will last a lifetime!

Zumba is a latin based dance/cardio fitness program where we will teach you all the moves from salsa to cumbia to reggaetone to the mambo and everything in between.  The great news about Zumba is you cannot do it wrong! As long as you are moving your body, you are winning at this program!

Family Zumba offers everything that an adult Zumba class offers minus any of those moves that we are all aware are inappropriate for children to know about or do.  We will teach you and your child to dance and play games inside of music.  Laughter and love will be a direct outcome of your participation in this program.

Parents who participate in this program have talked about the ride/walk home after class being fun and quite talkative and children getting a good night’s sleep!  Parents also speak about feeling like they don’t have time to do their own work but when it is combined with their children, they get a great workout themselves too!


This program supports you as a parent in having a newfound relationship with your child.  The program supports your children with building confidence and self-expression.

This program offers a great workout for you all to keep fit and have fun at any age!

This program is available to all parents or guardians and children ages 5-9 years of age….ADULTS: YOU MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY YOUR CHILD EACH WEEK! 🙂

Being a Parent and Provider….Full-Time + Hours!

Being a parent is never an “easy” job.  With the responsibility to raise your child to be a respectful young person and one day mature adult, it is a job that is one of itself. However, for most people, it is not the only job you hold.

Today’s reality is that we see more often than not, both parents or single parents in the workplace..…you have to make a living.  That IS the choice you have.   Having to maintain a full-time career and be a full-time parent which often includes a multiple of extra curricular activities and rides needed to and from a friend’s home or to school, where do you fit time in for yourself?

Yes, you had children. Yes, you need to take care of them.  Yes, in most cases, you need to work.  AND YES, you need to take time out for yourself. If you are not making time to replenish and refill your own spirit, eventually you get lost in all the activities of your child and you lose who you are.

I am often approached by women in their mid 30’s to mid 40’s who say they have been so busy making sure the bills were paid and their child had everything they needed that they had stopped taking care of their own health and  were beginning to fear what life will be like after their children leave home.  Not fear from being alone but more fear of who they actually are and what they will do with themselves when all that time became theirs again.

As a parent, you must make time for yourself. Even if it 60 minutes 1-2 times a week to start.  60 minutes to do something that you love or that lights you up can make all the difference in how you are able to support others in the long-term.  Take baby steps to regaining time for yourself.  No elephant ever got ate in one bite! (A phrase told to me by a wise parent…)  Get to know what you love to do….ride a bike, read a book, take a class, go see a movie, knit! It doesn’t matter what it is as long as it inspires YOU!

Parents I see who have taken this on, not only smile more and seem more grounded in who they are…also, have children who support them and see what is possible for themselves as youth to always be who they are first and everything else will fall into place.

Be YOU…’s all your children ever want you to be!
