April is Here & So Am I!

Hi Everyone!

I have missed you all very much and for the past 2 weeks have been in Ireland with my family exploring the whole island!

I must say that leaving to go on holidays, for me, is always the hardest part.  I think about the BAZILLION things on my ‘To Do’ list (and anyone who truly knows me, knows how I make LONG lists to get through every day) and will there actually be enough time?

At some point, I finally give myself a break and say “Tammy, you have officially done all that you can and it’s time to just enjoy.”

This time was no different.  I realized that I really needed the break to recharge and just ‘BE’ with my family with no agenda and nothing but being present with each and everyone.

Now, here I am, in the present happy and rested and can’t wait to be with all my Zumba family again in the next few days!

I hope you can all make it out this week! All classes are on for the month of April and we shall shimmy and shake and have the weather warm up just as fast as it can!

It is so good for the heart and soul to stop and recharge from time to time!

Much love,

I Am Under Construction…It Is A GREAT Thing!

I have discovered that everything in life, jobs, relationships, being alive, is always evolving and if I stay “static” or not moving in one area then everything eventually seems like it gets “stuck”. It becomes a force that is very hard to move forward.

The beginning of 2018 brought upon many incidents/accidents that have had me begin to re-evaluate much of what I have been working on.  Not like a problem, only that knowing when many challenges show up, sometimes it is like the universe’s way of saying “HELLO TAMMY!! Are you listening?”

The most prominent that started my year were 2 car accidents less than 2 month’s apart. Both times I was rear-ended and ended up with whiplash and concussions. The second time I was hit, my car that I just purchased less than 6 month’s prior to the accidents, it didn’t make it.

Being that I work primarily in the fitness industry this was very hard physically to see some of the limitations I was having after both accidents.  I had headaches regularly, my body was very sore constantly.  I would easily forget things I had just done or said in the first few weeks following these accidents. It was terribly frustrating at the time.

Thankfully, I know my body well and went directly to my chiropractor and medical doctor right after the accidents. I immediately got the support I needed and have bounced back extremely quickly so I can keep working doing what I love.

That being said, the accidents also opened something up for me. I realized I really had no back up plan if something were to happen that I didn’t “bounce back” again if something else were to happen. The question to myself was “If I am not able to dance anymore, then what?”

I realized this year that my passion is and always will be to support others in discovering what lights them up. Supporting others in finding the relationships they are looking for. Supporting people of all abilities to move and find their groove! Supporting others in making their dreams reality, whether it be fitness goals, relationships, financial, building businesses, creating extraordinary events, and so much more.

The company I have built, the Live OUT LOUD Movement, is so much more than just a fitness program based primarily in Zumba Fitness.

The Live OUT LOUD Movement is a LIFE MOVEMENT.

A place to take all that seems like heavy weights on our shoulders and discover the silver lining within them all to produce extraordinary results in the face of no agreement in life.

I truly believe that everything happens in our lives for a reason. Even all the “bad stuff” that I wish never happened. I see it as it had to happen to show me something that I couldn’t see was available before. In the moment, it never “feels” that way, however the true gift of this MOVEMENT is the opportunity to look more in-depth at what is happening and discover what I/we can’t see right away.  Discovering the knowledge that is hidden deep within what ails us to creating a strong and vibrant life that impacts ourselves and others by what is discovered!

I am in the process of rebuilding new aspects to the Live OUT LOUD Movement and new offerings over the next few months to really dive deep into what is possible through this company to help people in a unique way.

I hope you stick around to see what is next and how it all plays out. I will always continue to dance for as long as my body will let me, you can bet money on that and now is the time for me to take what I have built thus far and expand it far beyond where it is today!

I'm under construction and loving it

Just 60 minutes!

In a world full of deadlines, mergers and family stresses sometimes all it takes is 60 minutes to do something active out of 1,440 minutes in a day.

I often here people say “ I am sooooo busy”, “ I have no time”, however studies show that people who take 60 minutes out of their day to do something physically active produce greater results and are more productive than those who burn the candle at both ends.

When I was a kid, computers were just coming into the world….yes, I just dated myself….and at that time, physical activity was definitely happening a lot more than it does today.  Kids would go outside to play, riding your bikes with your friends was the thing to do! Adults went for walks a lot in the evening after dinner. People simply got up and got out more than they do today.

Today it often takes something to step away from the desk, close the computer, walk away from the television.  60 minutes can make a world of difference in your vitality and well being even if only done 4-5 days a week.  We are all living on this planet but that doesn’t mean that we “feel” alive.  Taking on some sort of physical activity that allows you the opportunity to feel great and will release healthy endorphins through your body can give you some release from the stresses that your life puts on you.

You only get to live once, so why not “FEEL” awesome and relaxed at the end of each day?!

Take a zumba class, join a gym, do kick boxing, karate, swim, run, hike, play basketball, join a team, whatever it is that lights you up, make it a part of your regular weekly routine and start taking care of you!

Want to find out a great way to spend 60 minutes in a day?

To make it easier for you and your co-workers, I can come to you! Contact me today to find out how!

Life Begins at the End of Your Comfort Zone

I am 35, with a family history of cancer.  Recently I was tested for breast cancer. I did the test right before I went on vacation, when I returned from vacation there were 2 messages on my voice mail. One from my medical doctor asking me to come in because they had found something and one from a specialist booking an appointment.

I received these messages quite late  in the day upon my return….you know that time of day where there is really no one you can talk to because the doctor’s offices are closed and your left in a panic? Yes, that time of day!

This may sound a bit dramatic but seriously, it was like my life flashed before me…all the things I wished I had already done and hadn’t. The concern of “Am I sick? Am I going to be okay? Why have I wasted so much time doing things I don’t want to do? Why do I always think there is a tomorrow?”  I am the Queen of making myself wrong sometimes!

I spent most of the night wondering about my health and all the things I hoped I would still have time to do…..AND not take it for granted that the amount of time I had may be little!

The next day, I finally was able to reach my doctor office. They wouldn’t give me any results over the phone so I had to wait until the next day to see her for results.  In the meantime I finally reached the specialist office, whom by total accident were not trying to reach me but someone else. It was an error….a rather emotional error for me for about 30 hours!

Once receiving the news that the specialist appointment was not actually for me, my nerves began to settle a bit but I was still left with this thought of “why do I always think there is always tomorrow?”  I see how I put things off in my life thinking, I will get to it someday maybe or next week….you know the week that never seems to come….

The next day I went to see my medical doctor who informed me that they did in fact find a large cyst in my left breast, however they feel it is benign (which means not cancer) and I will need to follow up for exams every few months to ensure it doesn’t grow and that no new lumps show up.  This is good news!

I walked out of the appointment feeling ALIVE….for what I would consider may have been the very first time.  I got another shot to start doing the things I LOVE to do today.  To take on making a difference in this world and to do it TODAY and not tomorrow!

Disease is not always a life sentence, however it can also be just the wake up call one may need to begin living outside the comfort zone and live life to the fullest!  We never know how long we have…it may be minutes, hours, days, weeks, years however one thing is for certain….it comes to an end for all of us at one time or another so why not make the best of it, live it up, do things to be as healthy as you can, make someone smile, make a difference today to inspire others for a better tomorrow!
