HAPPY AUGUST to you!! 
I am taking August 3-7 off from teaching. 
Never fear though, I thought it out & included in this newsletter at the very end, links to a class I recorded & uploaded to Youtube PLUS a few extra songs so you can get your Zumba in even while I am away! For more, go to youtube & enter Tammy Gunn.
All classes will resume Monday August 10th on Zoom.

NEWSLETTER BI-WEEKLY
I will be running the newsletter bi -weekly for the next few months as things are changing so quickly with COVID-19.  I want to be able to update you as we evolve as well as let you know I AM HERE for YOU & classes are running whether online or (one day soon I hope) in person!
If you are someone who is enjoying the online classes, I would like to hear from you if you would like to continue having an online class offered, even when in person classes resume. I would like to know a few days and times of the week that work best for you so I can start thinking ahead with how we will continue these classes.
How can I pay? 
If you choose to pay, I have a Pay What You Can structure. This means anyone can attend the classes for free & if you would like to make a Pay What You Can to me in any dollar amount to attend the classes, I leave that to you & there is no obligation. I am very grateful for all your love & support.

Some EXTRA FUN to happen at some classes this month! 
1. We will KICK OFF our FIRST Friday May 8th 10am class with 80s 90s music! 
 **Come dressed in 80s 90s gear if you like!
 
2. Wednesday May 13th at 6:00pm we will have 80s & 90s Music for Zumba Toning! 
**Come dressed in 80s 90s gear if you like!
 
3.  Wednesday May 20th will be a ONE HOUR Zumba Toning AND Zumba Sentao class! (This means you will need a stationary chair…no wheels…don’t want you rolling away! & 1-2lbs weights)
 
How can you pay?
Many of you have approached me about wanting to pay to attend these online classes. My thoughts on this are we are all struggling financially & for that reason, I do not wish to burden anyone with choosing between paying for a class & buying essentials that you need.That being said, if you still would like to pay, I have created a Pay What You Can structure. What this means is anyone can attend the classes for FREE & if you would like to make a donation to me in any dollar amount to attend the classes, I leave that to you & there is no obligation. I am very grateful for all your love & support.

April Zumba Online during Covid19

What is new? Let’s get ready for next week!

I have been thinking about all of you & praying that you & your families are all safe during this crazy time of Covid19.  It is not easy being at home day in & day out. I know for myself, there have been moments of feeling down, eating too much, boredom & all around just missing people & the freedom to go out.

This difficult time has also had me see the things in my life that I have taken for granted. Especially things like getting together with my friends & family, shopping when I feel like it & going outside to exercise.
For the past 2 weeks, I have been running classes through Zoom online & what I have realized is I am not alone in all these feelings. I have also realized how much JOY it brings us all to gather as a community, even if it only be online, to play some music & DANCE! 🙂
With that in mind, we can now see that April is going to continue to be shut down from social contact.  For that reason, I will continue teachingZUMBA CLASSES WEEKLY through zoom!  
Doesn’t matter where you are in the world….YOU can now come DANCE WITH ME!! 🙂

10 Years TODAY as a Zumba Fitness Instructor!

10 years ago today, I birthed a new career path as a Zumba Fitness Instructor. Who knew what that was going to look like!
I orginally saw it as a part-time gig…Since then, I have taught hundred’s of young people & teens across the GTA from fitness classes, to dance-a-thons, to mental health weeks, to warm ups at large group fitness days.
I have hosted my own classes in the community, taught in gyms, traveled to Jamaica to teach, been in a commercial (not sure it ever aired..lol), taught people from every walk of life & age group.
I have worked with people of all abilities from wheelchairs, to Down’s, to many mental & physical differences. We have danced with weights, in the water, from a chair & more. To now ONLINE classes & connecting the world with dance! I have met & made some of the BEST friendships with incredible woman & men along the way & continue to. We have laughed, sweat, moved & grooved & let self expression reign for a decade!
This moment opened the doors to my LOVE of making a difference for people. This moment opened the door to being trained in Laughter Yoga, Dance for Parkinson’s, Zumba Toning, Zumba Sentao, Aqua Zumba, Zumba Kids & kids Jr., Zumba Core, Stretch classes & more.
I am forever grateful & thankful for the past decade of Love, Laughter, Self Expression & being surrounded by beautiful people along this journey!
I cannot wait to see what the next decade has in store & I am grateful to have the opportunity to share it all with YOU!

April is Here & So Am I!

Hi Everyone!

I have missed you all very much and for the past 2 weeks have been in Ireland with my family exploring the whole island!

I must say that leaving to go on holidays, for me, is always the hardest part.  I think about the BAZILLION things on my ‘To Do’ list (and anyone who truly knows me, knows how I make LONG lists to get through every day) and will there actually be enough time?

At some point, I finally give myself a break and say “Tammy, you have officially done all that you can and it’s time to just enjoy.”

This time was no different.  I realized that I really needed the break to recharge and just ‘BE’ with my family with no agenda and nothing but being present with each and everyone.

Now, here I am, in the present happy and rested and can’t wait to be with all my Zumba family again in the next few days!

I hope you can all make it out this week! All classes are on for the month of April and we shall shimmy and shake and have the weather warm up just as fast as it can!

It is so good for the heart and soul to stop and recharge from time to time!

Do You Need Stress Relief?

Life is not easy all the time and being human, we all deal with a certain amount of stress. It is just a fact of life.

Stress is something that will diminish your energy, cause anxiety through your body, leave you feeling like you either need to run away or stand up and fight.

It really does affect us all.

So what’s the solution?

I can only speak from what I know.  What I know if that I spent MANY years being a prisoner of my stress.  It would build up in my body until I felt paralyzed and couldn’t think of what a possible “next step” could even be!

One day while feeling super bummed out and wanting to hide, I heard a fun song on the radio that I knew. I could feel the corners of my mouth turning up. Soon I realized I was singing along.  By the end of the song I was up and moving around cleaning up while doing a little dance.

I felt great. Like the cement blocks on my shoulders were starting to crumble.

I started to do this more often when feeling super stressed out.

It wasn’t until years later that I discovered Zumba…and then really…like no kidding…I DANCE OUT ALL MY STRESS every week and feel amazing…even to this day!!!

Zumba became my full-time stress reliever.

I discovered that rhythms and moving my body to rhythms allowed not only my physical body to “feel good” but it also rearranges molecules in my thinking and how I react to difficult situations.

Zumba became my solution to dealing with my stress. Maybe it could for you too!

Are YOU Ready to Zumba in November?

I cannot believe that we are already into November tomorrow! 2018 is flying by and there doesn’t seem to be any brakes on this train!

That being said, it has been a pretty awesome year thus far and I am sure the rest of the year will be just as awesome!

This month, ALL CLASSES ARE ON! There are no adjustments to the schedule so please check your schedule and add your weekly Zumba class to your routine!

TONIGHT is HALLOWEEN and still October, so please note that with Halloween there is NO CLASS this evening. Enjoy  handing out candy or watching scary movies, or BOTH! 🙂

November will be jam-packed with GREAT music, new moves and on November 16th, the morning class will head over to the Starving Artist, AFTER ZUMBA, to enjoy some great waffles and espressos. Come and join us if you can!

Class passes will remain at the same price with no increases.

10 classes, good for 3 months, $85

20 classes, good for 6 months, $150

Personal Stories

One Step At a Time!

Do you ever just want to do some type of fitness but stop yourself because you have the thought “but will THIS be the thing I can stick to?” or “will THIS be the exercise I will actually get in shape with?”

Many people stop before they even get started due to mindset.

Myself included.

I knew for many years that I wanted to do some form of fitness and many times I would start at the gym and do some cardio, a bit of weights and then get frustrated because either

a. I wouldn’t be consistent because I couldn’t see where this work was going or

b. I just wasn’t having fun and it began to feel like another j-o-b and quite frankly I already had one of those doing 40+ hours a week!

When I discovered Zumba, I realized it was actually similar to something I would do often that would pick up my spirits. At home, I would crank up my music, clean my house, sing out loud, shake my bum while I tidied up!

The best part with Zumba is I no longer had to CLEAN UP to get this inspiration going! 🙂 

I could just go to a class, stand in the front or the back and just dance and lose myself in the music.  I stopped having those thoughts of “will this get me in shape” or “will this be the thing I stick to.”

It just became easy because I fell in love with it.

A great zumba instructor and class has a freedom to it. Everyone is accepted. Everyone CAN dance and are in a safe, fun environment where people just let loose and sweat awesomeness everywhere.

You will be having so much fun that you don’t need to see the end result, you just ride out the journey….one…step…at…a…time!

Summer is Here to Stay!

Summer is NOT over….EVER…

Why do I say this?

Because in a Zumba class it doesn’t matter what time of the year it is…you WILL have the experience of landing on an island somewhere and dancing till you feel like it is summer where ever you are!

Don’t believe me?

Then come try out a class! Experience it for yourself! I keep the moves simple and you will sweat and feel HAPPY emotions flood over you like they do on a nice sunny day!

I always thought that was a crazy analogy…until I started taking Zumba myself! Once the class begins, no matter how cold outside, in moments you are warm all over and a smile will be beaming from ear to ear.

It is kind of magical really!  

Don’t take my word for it. Quote this post and get the class on me to give it a whirl!

Come get hooked on Zumba and have the experience of summer all year-long!
