HAPPY AUGUST to you!! 
I am taking August 3-7 off from teaching. 
Never fear though, I thought it out & included in this newsletter at the very end, links to a class I recorded & uploaded to Youtube PLUS a few extra songs so you can get your Zumba in even while I am away! For more, go to youtube & enter Tammy Gunn.

NEWSLETTER BI-WEEKLY
I will be running the newsletter bi -weekly for the next few months as things are changing so quickly with COVID-19.  I want to be able to update you as we evolve as well as let you know I AM HERE for YOU & classes are running whether online or (one day soon I hope) in person!
If you are someone who is enjoying the online classes, I would like to hear from you if you would like to continue having an online class offered, even when in person classes resume. I would like to know a few days and times of the week that work best for you so I can start thinking ahead with how we will continue these classes.
How can I pay? 
If you choose to pay, I have a Pay What You Can structure. This means anyone can attend the classes for free & if you would like to make a Pay What You Can to me in any dollar amount to attend the classes, I leave that to you & there is no obligation. I am very grateful for all your love & support.

April Zumba Online during Covid19

What is new? Let’s get ready for next week!

I have been thinking about all of you & praying that you & your families are all safe during this crazy time of Covid19.  It is not easy being at home day in & day out. I know for myself, there have been moments of feeling down, eating too much, boredom & all around just missing people & the freedom to go out.

This difficult time has also had me see the things in my life that I have taken for granted. Especially things like getting together with my friends & family, shopping when I feel like it & going outside to exercise.
For the past 2 weeks, I have been running classes through Zoom online & what I have realized is I am not alone in all these feelings. I have also realized how much JOY it brings us all to gather as a community, even if it only be online, to play some music & DANCE! 🙂
With that in mind, we can now see that April is going to continue to be shut down from social contact.  For that reason, I will continue teachingZUMBA CLASSES WEEKLY through zoom!  
Doesn’t matter where you are in the world….YOU can now come DANCE WITH ME!! 🙂
How can I pay?
Many of you have approached me about wanting to pay to attend these online classes.  My thoughts on this are we are all struggling financially & for that reason, I do not wish to burden anyone with choosing between paying for a class & buying essentials that you need.
That being said, if you still would like to pay, I am creating a donation to dance.  What this means is anyone can attend the classes for FREE& if you would like to make a donation to me in any dollar amount to attend the classes, I leave that to you & there is no obligation. I am very grateful for all your love & support.

10 Years TODAY as a Zumba Fitness Instructor!

10 years ago today, I birthed a new career path as a Zumba Fitness Instructor. Who knew what that was going to look like!
I orginally saw it as a part-time gig…Since then, I have taught hundred’s of young people & teens across the GTA from fitness classes, to dance-a-thons, to mental health weeks, to warm ups at large group fitness days.
I have hosted my own classes in the community, taught in gyms, traveled to Jamaica to teach, been in a commercial (not sure it ever aired..lol), taught people from every walk of life & age group.
I have worked with people of all abilities from wheelchairs, to Down’s, to many mental & physical differences. We have danced with weights, in the water, from a chair & more. To now ONLINE classes & connecting the world with dance! I have met & made some of the BEST friendships with incredible woman & men along the way & continue to. We have laughed, sweat, moved & grooved & let self expression reign for a decade!
This moment opened the doors to my LOVE of making a difference for people. This moment opened the door to being trained in Laughter Yoga, Dance for Parkinson’s, Zumba Toning, Zumba Sentao, Aqua Zumba, Zumba Kids & kids Jr., Zumba Core, Stretch classes & more.
I am forever grateful & thankful for the past decade of Love, Laughter, Self Expression & being surrounded by beautiful people along this journey!
I cannot wait to see what the next decade has in store & I am grateful to have the opportunity to share it all with YOU!

Covid19 Cancellations & Online Option

To all my clients
Since learning more about the current global situation with the COVID-19 virus, the brewery is closing & I have made the decision to shut down wednesday night classes until further notice.
We want to keep you & all your families safe. I will send out an email notice to all with this information & will update you once our wednesday night classes resume.
Please be assured that we will keep you informed of any developments in the brewery and will hope to open again as soon as it is safe for everyone.
In the meantime, stay tuned for online classes to be made available very soon! I will post again here shortly with this information! 🙂
Until then, please listen to music in your home’s, dance in the house & know that I am dancing with, thinking of you all & sending you all so much love.

The Best Things In Life Make You Sweaty!

How true is that statement?!

Pretty true if you ask me! In this case in particular, I am talking about getting your “sweat on” dancing to amazing music and just letting your body move and groove however it wants to!

If you have never tried this, I invite you to give it a go in the comfort of your own home. DO NOT TRY THIS IN FRONT OF A MIRROR! If you do, I assert, you will only start to judge and assess the way you move and make up all sorts of things rather than just getting lost in a good song that makes you feel amazing to move to!

I was a “private dancer” for many years….aka….dancing in my home where nobody could see me.  If you are worried about letting loose in public, this truly is a great place to start.

The next thing to do is to FIND YOUR TRIBE! 

What does this mean?

All this means is finding a group of people, who like yourself, just want to be able to move and de-stress throughout the week. This is a non-judgmental group that just wants to get lost in the music….maybe hoot and holler a little bit….make up moves from time to time on the spot…and learn a few new moves from an instructor.

Where could you find this “tribe”?

Every Wednesday night at 6:45pm a group of AMAZING FUN NON-JUDGMENTAL people come together at High Park Brewery to let loose and shake all the cares and worries away for one hour!  Oh, it is also known as a Zumba Basics class led by….ME! 🙂

The people who come are AWESOME! There are no mirrors so you can just get your groove on, laugh, play and enjoy yourself!  Do not worry about getting it “right”. There is NO right way to dance and de-stress.  The only way you can do this one hour class wrong is if you stand in the corner and quite literally just “stand” there.

I highly recommend you move and however you move is PERFECT!

We have TWO classes left of 2019! Tomorrow and Wednesday December 18th, both start at 6:45pm.  Being we are in a brewery too and not just ANY brewery but one that makes the BEST BEER in Toronto, you can enjoy a cold brew and meet some really great people too!

It is a WIN WIN! What a way to end 2019!  Come do something just for YOU! And bring friends if you like! The more the merrier!  SEE YOU WEDNESDAY!

Halloween Party for Zumba and a Pint this Wednesday!!

This Wednesday we will be hosting a HALLOWEEN EDITION of Zumba & a Pint!

6:45pm this Wednesday October 30th High Park Brewery is hosting a SPOOKTACULAR night of halloween themed music, prizes & fun for all!

To be entered to win a prize you MUST come in costume! 🙂

This is will be a really fun night! The brewery has even brewed 4 new beers for you! The Pumpkin Spice is delicious!

Do You Suffer From Weather Headaches?

I don’t know about you…but I am VERY affected by weather changes.

Barometric changes are my nemesis!

I can tell when it is about to rain or snow…not by looking outside but by what I feel…the pressure on my head feels like I have my head in a vice and its slowly turning right behind my eyes.  It can come on pretty quick. In fact yesterday, it took 30 minutes to set in and literally have me in pain.

The ONLY thing I have truly found that works to relieve the pressure and headache onset is…you guessed it….Zumba!

While it may seem like “Why would you put loud music on and move when your head is killing?”

My response is “about 2 songs in, the oxygen is flowing fully again through my body and endorphins are releasing…. typically by the third song in I can feel CLEAR again and the vice on my head is no longer gripping me!”

The hardest part…ALWAYS…

Just getting to class when it is hurting so intensely.

Once I am there and get moving, it is like being released from a cement cloud that has engulfed me.

TODAY is a great day, for anyone suffering from weather shifts, to come out to class tonight and let me help you to release the pressure on your head through Zumba!

Zumba & a Pint Wednesdays are sooo much fun!

People are talking about how much fun they are having each week at High Park Brewery!  The time flies, the ladies are all awesome & the beer is delicious!

I have always wanted to run a community class in our neighborhood. In fact, I actually have been running community classes in our neighborhood for 8 years!! The issue had always been location….NOW that problem is solved! 🙂

High Park Brewery is a great spot with tons of space & the atmosphere is super friendly!

Come try it out on your own or bring friends, co-workers, spouses, whoever you think might enjoy!  You can also make Wednesday night a fun night to bring a group that you belong to!  The more the merrier!

I keep the moves easy to follow. The point is to have tons of fun, laugh lots, sweat lots & shake away your stresses!  Hope you can come out soon!

Do You Get the Mid Week Blues?

Never fear! Zumba Basics is HERE!!! 🙂

Okay, yes. I do get quite excited about this.

Here is why….many years ago now (before I found Zumba) I used to find Tuesdays to be a very long day and by the time Wednesday rolled around, I would be feeling super tired and wishing for the weekend….since discovering the great world of Zumba AND doing a Zumba class every wednesday, my energy to kick it through the week has been AMAZING!

I personally just want everyone to have amazing days and incredible weeks and now that we have moved into this uber cool spot of High Park Brewery, it has made it even MORE FUN (if that was even possible)!!

This location is especially great for those who have friends or family who want to join you but may or may not want to actually do the class for now.  They can come, sit on the patio or inside, enjoy a cold pint or soda, listen to the music and pick up on the energy whether they are doing the class or not! Pretty cool!

You get to do your fitness class AND spend time with those you care about! OR, if you just need a night away from everyone, this is just a really awesome place to get your groove on with some pretty spectacular ladies!!

Tonight We Dance!

This morning I got up early (5:45am) in anticipation of it being Wednesday….I love Wednesdays…one of my favorite days of the week for so many reasons!

A big reason today that I am full of energy so early is that I get to see so many of you tonight! Tonight is Zumba Basics at High Park Brewery! Our new location lights me up!

For anyone who is not clear what Zumba Basics is…..it is a latin cardio fitness program that incorporates in music and moves from around the world. I take you on a musical journey of dance (with 3-4 moves per song to keep it easy to follow) from around the world.

We could be doing anything from bachata, salsa, swing, african, hip hop, reggatone, tango, cumbia, pop, brazilian, you name it and you will most likely find it in this class.

It is not about getting it “right”, it is about moving your body and feeling the rhythm in your soul.

I have been teaching now for nearly a decade and before that was a client for a few years with Zumba. In my opinion, this is one of the most fun ways to work out without feeling like you are doing a work out but your sweat and smile at the end let you know that you did!

If you miss a move we are doing, don’t worry about it! Accidental solo’s are the best! We have no mirrors in the Brewery so only you know if you missed it and it’s a great way to train yourself to not be so hard on you! 🙂

ANYONE truly can do Zumba!  If you can move your body in any way, you can do Zumba! I have clients in wheelchairs that do Zumba!  It is one of the best programs out there that is universal to anyone and everyone being able to participate.

Take a chance! I invite you to come out and give it a try!
